A Nest Kit encourages sensory participation and all types of play with the freedom to be neuro-different! The process and product of play coexists alongside varying sensory needs, which in turn shade the differences in how children seek purpose within their own experience. Some children will pair the theme with creativity and become entranced by a world of imagination. Other children, instead of telling a story with their creation, may seek predictability and visual organization, finding gratification in sequencing and sorting all the treasures. Some children may find comfort in manipulating, squishing, burying, or stacking the tiny & textured objects in a quiet or excited moment, while others may mindlessly shape the dough and engage in an intrapersonal connection that otherwise would have been too overwhelming to sustain. And equally valued, there are those who will prefer, beyond anything, the sensory medium to remain treasure & texture free at all times.
