Nest Boxes encourage sensory and imaginative play with the freedom to be neuro-different! The process and product of play coexists alongside varying sensory needs, which in turn shade the differences in how children seek purpose within their own experience. Some children will pair the theme with creativity and become entranced by a world of imagination. Other children, instead of telling a story with their creation, may seek predictability and visual organization, finding gratification in sequencing and sorting all the treasures. Some children may find comfort in manipulating, squishing, burying, or stacking the tiny & textured objects in a quiet or excited moment, while others may mindlessly shape the dough and engage in an intrapersonal connection that otherwise would have been too overwhelming to sustain. And there will always be those who, beyond anything, will need the dough to stay trinket free at all times. Inspired by our daughter who joyfully sorts and orders objects by particularity, and as a tribute to all who dance to the beat of their own drum, we hope that a Nest Box extends authentic comfort and connection for all the children in your nest.
